What a Dream I had last night
We'd just ridden through Joshua Tree National Park where we'd been serenaded by "Love Hurts", being gently sung by Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris. I was filling up the bike at a service station in the California town of Twentynine Palms, where you really can feel the heat of it's desert heart. As we rolled out of the gas station two kids in an old Camaro waved a peace salute at us and shouted, "Hey, Harley fuckin' Davidson"! I returned the gesture with a salute, military style. I turned down a dusty track and then turned left onto Ironage Road to cross the desert land toward Route 66. Now it was Jethro Tull playing on the bike's CD player, "Life's A Long Song". Dust devils were rising up from the moonscape scenery and tumbleweed tumbled as we passed a few Native Indian homes, with old Ford trucks and various old V8 engines in their yard, before we were finally swallowed up by the landscape. An hour later and we entered Amboy, Pop. 19. The air temparature gauge on the Electra Glide was way off the clock, which finished at 120F. At the one service station, opposite the post office, we rode under the canopy, switched off the motor and stuck our heads in the huge barrel of water with cans of drink floating in it. We went inside and bought some, at outrageous prices, but in the land of the parched, the solitary convenience store owner is King. Then I woke up in my bed, at home in England. I pulled back the curtain and looked out. It was snowing.

Nice dream, sorry about the "wake up call" behind the curtain.
That pic in your sidebar from feb 2 ? Yeah, it looks exactly like that over here, all the more reason to get back to Maui !
I wanna go back to sleeeeep :0
I want your dream :-)

Pepper
Hey, thats great Pepper. Maybe he knows that road I dreamt about? Say `Hi` to the man from me. I'll try and post some biker pics from Europe (well France, anyway) when we had the Heritage.
Hi there wise Sage, I intend to dream up another one soon.
As for today? Well its freezing cold but we didn't get anymore snow overnight. The main roads are clear and yesterday I rode a round trip of 50 miles to get my new bionic pre-molar (tooth, ok?). I'm not paranoid, but I'm sure it's got a microchip in it so that MI5 can keep tabs on my locations.
Got to suit up to ride in to work. Thank the stars for electrically heated grips. Do Hells Angels use moisturiser?
ok he changed his name on the blog........ hubby's name is now Ky Long Rider. You guys i am sure can talk bikes til you pass out!!! laughs
Hi there, thanks for posting at my blog.
Nice dream, and nice writing, could nearly have been there.
Nice to see a bit of snow this week, but shame our country just can't cope ..
It's been snowing!?
Noone mentioned it at all.
By the way, thanks for the last comment - you won't believe how unpopular process is with both the bosses, the CPS, the courts and even new PCs.
Many PCs coming on to division have no idea how to do traffic process. And even those that do often have no idea (and sometimes refuse to accept) that you can process people for other offences except traffic.
There's a blog post there for me to do someday...
You know what, I've suspected this for some time with the police I occasionally encounter in my current job. Obviously I avoid lamp-swinging at all costs ;) One southern county force I know reasonably well used to process for all sorts of stuff that I would have lifted there and then in the Met. It dawned on me, `no reason why not`. As for newbies, only a few yrs ago, as a civvy working for an agency, I had to explain to a probationer (18mths)that a bail-conditioned suspect threatening a witness not only can be arrested but really ought to be. He came back with his Sgt (4yrs) who suggested I'd got it wrong because the witness was the suspects brother! So yes, I absolutely believe you.
