We're ACPO.... trust us

"I followed ACPO guidelines and grassed up the bloke at the end of the street. He fitted the profile, kept himself to himself  (a bit of a loner) was polite but `distant`, loved his mother, I mean she even lived with him. Trouble is I now believe think I got it ever so slightly wrong and wish to make an amendment -  I don''t think he's a terrorist, I now think he's just a paedophile, released less than halfway through a seven year sentence. Can my retraction be acknowledged, in writing, please?"

Oops! ACPO just can't seem to get on the right side of the ASA can they?

Only a few months ago it was the Pledge advertising that was removed as it was considered inaccurate and misleading over response times and officer visibility (as it was indeed proved to be), now, with the so called experience within their ranks, they make such a basic faux pas.

And these guys we are supposed to trust to lead our police service? Only makes us question all the other decisions and comments they make in the name of the job. Heaven help us.

How do we get a cure without removing ACPO first? It's a bit like leaving a computer virus in place to prevent others getting into your system.

I almost fit this profile to a T. My mother is dead though - does keeping her body in the attic count?

I did report one of my students some many years back, one of about a hundred Jihadis playing the game at the time. I was treated with some derision. He wasn't a terrorist, but did kill two plastic surgeons and has since topped himself.I doubt I would have been persuaded to 'snitch' by a radio advert. The system could not cope with my genuine information. What would it do with the drivel likely from those inspired by this?

Fill up its databases, of course!

Blue/Dickiebo: If it wasn't so sad, it would be....no, at their prices it could never be funny.

SCheeks: Yes, otherwise, what's the point?

Analyst: Keep up the good analytical work!

ACO: Comment 1: By re-branding? Watch that space!
2. Our profiling was never result specific - we just knew there'd be an unpleasant result.

JuliaM: And when it's full, I guess we'll ALL be suspects ;)
