Verdict as anticipated

GUILTY

Now call me `an old fart` and complain about the smell if you wish, but when I saw this case coming and the result of the other half, I thought the better option was a guilty plea with heavy mitigation based on what she attempted to cite as a defence. But then I'm no solicitor

You would have to have a heart of stone not to laugh 'til you puke.

Sparkflash: I did have a wry smile on my chops - just before doing just that. "hell hath no fury....."

Reminded me of what an old chum told me recently. He delivers speed awareness courses for those who have fallen foul and want to avoid a worse fate.

Disgruntled attendee complains: "Most of these bloody speed cameras don't have film in them anyway".

My mate replies in his inimitable style: "But it didn't stop you because you kept on trying until you found the ones that did".

What struck me was the sheer arrogance of Pryce and Huhne. Both seem to me to be the type of person who genuinely believes that obeying the law is for the 'little people' and that they are immune. It is their sense of entitlement that grates. I am sure that there will be more fall out over this. I am equally sure that the political class will ramp up the anti-police rhetoric over the coming months.
For the first time in my life I am considering not voting in the elections as I have come to the view that they are basically all the same.

I'd assumed that they'd all long since been replaced with digital recordings, yet still hear the occasional friend trying to convince themselves that as it was ".. the end of the weekend, they probably haven't got around to putting new film in yet.." in that forced cheery tone of someone failing to convince themselves.

I'm sure there's a terribly un-PC joke about the Irishman, desperately driving back and forth at high speed infront of one, trying to run out the film, in this, somewhere.

@ anonymous - doesn't matter who you vote for, the politicians still get in.

The best defence money could buy and that was the only story she could come up with? Dear oh dear.

Wisdom comes late, but is welcome when it comes.
