Funny to think that was 70 years ago. 1943 doesn't seem like it was that long ago.

Trobairitz - they are probably happy to have survived.

I read somewhere that they flew about 100 feet off the ground - one was engulfed in flames hitting a power line - another crashed (forget the reason) -

Truly an amazing feet - both their flying and courage, and Wallis Barnes for thinking outside the box developing that skip bomb.

There is an episode in Foyle's War dealing with this - although the main character in development isn't specifically called Barnes and of course a murder occurs in the lab (for Foyle to solve)
