Whatever the question was, or should have been, it's far too late in asking. Any new changes in the law for gun control will only really effect law abiding citizens. The number of firearms in circulation, while not helping, does not tell the whole story - you only have to look at the likes of Finland and Canada, with huge numbers of firearms, relative to the population size, yet a very low level of gun-crime, to see that what America has is a social problem.
Switzerland has a huge number of firearms per capita, and has a tiny incidence if misuse. Here in the UK, there are more loonys with firearms now than there were before they were made illegal.

There seems to be a threshold argument on gun possession. In the first place we should restrict them so crooks and loonies can't get them. Once the crooks and loonies all have them, we then all need them to protect ourselves and others. And we have to trust our cops and armed services to stay out of politics with the guns we let them have. Eventually, the right to bear arms is a nonsense arms' race that involves drawing lines. Argument in this area collapses as surely as it does when someone starts waving a gun about
HD, Some of the MANY problems we have here...first we have 50 states, that act like countries...the laws are all different in regards to guns. The gun control laws are usually written by those with no knowledge of guns...so they make up stuff. Our mental health care here is useless. I've had to deal with some of the same nuts for years...until they finnaly do themselves in or get run over by a bus because they think it's from outerspace and here to take them away.
Most legal gun owners are very safe and careful with them.

Now if that shop sign said "PORN & GUNS" I reckon it would do a much more brisk trade.
Blue, I expect it's illegal to sell porn AND guns in that particular State - well it makes sense.

My country is FUBAR.
It's safer for me to do a combat tour than to go to my hometown of Baltimore!

De Campo: Hey DC, Welcome back. Bad Day in Black Tuscon. At least in the UK our nut cases can't buy a gun from a high street shop.
TonyF; The Swiss may have firearms sorted, but they still have `death by chocolate` to contend with ;)
Plus they invented the cuckoo clock. :)
Whereas TonyF's right - we don't seem to be able to keep the cuckoos from getting their hands on weapons.
LOL love the pics, will have to save some

JuliaM: "The Cuckoo Clock" I forgot about that one - what bastards they are!
KennyO: Cheers mate!
ACO: I'm all for the Wardens having a big gun as they patrol the wildlife reserve. Not so sure about all the tourists having one as well, though.
