November in East Anglia can be very sunny, warm, foggy and cold

Just a little pictorial account of my travels over the last week. Been here 6 weeks and have yet to be stuck in traffic. People around these parts say `good morning` and take the time to chat. The local town has no traffic lights, no pedestrian crossings and no Tesco, but does have two traditional butchers, a great old fashioned `hardware` store, an electrical retailer who also sells bicycles and an Adnams Brewery Shop.

Nothing more serious to comment on just yet but, as promised, the tale of me and Edward Fox starring in the same film will follow shortly.

A novel post box

Hope they bought a lottery ticket

That's a real Peacock up there - dumb bird

The `eagle` has landed

A great place for lunch if ever you're in Norwich

Sometimes its obvious that parking won't be a good idea, but you can bet some dumb-arse will try

Ferry, `cross the Wensum

Ferry(back) across the Wensum

This is the alternative route for heavy vehicles!! WTF?

Point man - or `Just when you thought it was safe to eat your fish and chips on the sea wall.....`

....the point man calls in `strike now, strike now`

Leaves are fallin' all around, time I was on my way; Thanks to you, I'm much obliged; such a pleasant stay: But now it's time for me to go, the autumn moon lights my way; but now I smell the rain...and with it pain....and its heading my way`

So what's it like living in a picture postcard? I like to watch my pond from the back deck, but it must be just wonderful to be surrounded by that beauty even after you leave the house!

CI-RD: Visitors welcome. Can't help you with immigration, although if you strolled up to UK Ltd at the moment, you might well get in without getting your passport stamped.

Suz: I'll post up some pics of non-postcard stuff in due course, but you're right, I guess people sometimes fail to look around to see what they've got. I can tell you that New Zealand is so beautiful it makes your eyes ache.

JuliaM: It sure can be. We love it here.

Blue: Yup. A lunchtime pint of Southwold Bitter in the `WH` ("Yes madam, you can use the toilet if you've bought a drink", resulting in muttered somethings and an exit :)) Love it! Across the path to the worlds best fish and chippy and an ariel mugging on Crag Path - delightful stuff!

Tony: I'll check on the metallurgy next dog walk (but was that rust I saw by the handle?). Met the owners a few weeks ago whilst listening to a great Bluegrass/Folk Rock band "Kidnap Alice", in a local village hall - they played Glastonbury and the Isle of Wight this year. Its all happening out here y'know.

Beautiful pictures! We just spent a week in Ullapool and it's pretty much the same (without the seagulls but with a Tesco!) It's a real relief to get away from "civilisation" sometimes

All very local Hoggie. When does the strange traveling circus and the very odd German arrive? Do both butchers do 'specials' from under the counter? Have you been invited to join the League yet?
Only jealous mate.

Hi Hd!
Looks like life is good! Gorgeous places, I love the old stone structures. The narrow roads would take a bit of getting used to, I suppose. I'm heavily into North American infrastructure : )
Nice to know the sea gulls are as opportunistic over there as they are over here, I'd somehow thought an English sea gull would have better manners than its Canadian contemporary.
Thanks for the tour!
