Scotland the Brave

I support the Union and I congratulate Scotland, even those who said they'd sooner vote for the Taliban than The Union - I forgive the Scot that I actually heard say that - for he knew not what he was really saying (and was possibly thinking `rugby`). As for that pugnacious tosser Salmond, I have nothing to say and will keep my personal thoughts of him to myself.

Thank you, Scotland. I will always respect you.

Friend? If you see these flags you are among friends.
Enemy? Best you keep moving.

Welcome back. I have come to the conclusion that we are better together although I think in the final analysis the Scots need England more than England needs the Scots.
I have been ever so slightly 'anti' the Scots since the 1991 Rugby World Cup Final when I saw hordes of Scots parading around Twickenham in Kilts and Australian shirts saying they were 'honorary aussies' and would support whoever was playing England - that attitude works both ways. I now adopt their stance - I support whoever the Scots are playing against - it does upset them. I have been in rugby clubhouses in England where the ex pat Scots loudly proclaim their support of whoever is playing England. Try that in Scotland if you dare.
BTW I agree with what you say about Salmond. He is a consummate politician. That is not a compliment.

Scotland would have been in a very sorry state withing 5 years if they had voted independence. They are far better off in Union.

Good to see you back, my friend. I had almost given up on seeing you post.

I would have replied on the previous post, but couldn't figure out the "prove you're not a robot" code. Think I have this one sussed (? correct spelling/usage/).

Anyway, I'm most happy that you are alive and (mostly?) well.

Hi Paul,

I had a long break as house selling/buying plus a rather nasty head injury did cause me to stop and re-group. I tend to keep in touch with the `old naval aviation crowd` via the secret facebook Group. Glad that you, too, are still out there!

I could not comment while this was going on - being an outsider - but I could not imagine a UK without Scotland.
